It has been 1 week since I flew into Nome. Some things I have learned.
1. Ice cleats work great on ice. Yaktrax don't work well on ice, but do work well on packed snow.
2. I am told if you piss off the wrong people in Nome, you might go "swimming" in a crab pot. Kind of Alaska's version of "swimming with cement shoes."
3. The sun does set in March, in Nome. It just happens late.
