They did not appreciate us on the bridge watching them. I missed the picture of one of them slapping the water with its tail.
This is the picture of the bridge.
As you can tell it is not sunny. I hope to catch some fish
from this river one of these days.
It is hard to tell but the willows are starting to bud, and the grass is getting green in a few places.
The road to Teller is 72 miles, one way. The scenery really is more spectacular than
these pictures show.
They report there are 25,000 reindeer that roam the Seward Peninsula.
We did not see anywhere close to 1,000, but we did see a few herds. We probably saw a couple hundred. This was just one herd, of the 3 we saw.
We also saw a few more musk ox. They did not seem to be bothered by the weather. It is kind of hard to tell though.
There were 4 little "calves"? in this herd. They were hidden by the shagginess of their mothers, and the rest of the herd. A couple of the bulls were butting heads. That was cool to see.
As for Teller itself. Well, if Nome, AK is a nicer version of Walthill, NE, then Teller, AK is a less nice version of Macy, NE. If the sun was shining the scenery would be nicer.
This is a point to the East of Teller.the main part of Teller. They were going toward the "suburb area
of Teller.
It actually takes less time to see the entire village of Teller, than it does to drive through Macy. One road down. Two more to go!
